Your Next Opportunity To Pick Strawberries is Friday 8am-12pm

The Patch is currently picked out and is CLOSED for more ripening πŸ“. The weather has been cool and rainy, slowing ripening. Therefore, the berries need some extra time to develop their berry deliciousness.

The Patch will be open for pick-your-own strawberries on Friday, June 19th, from 8am-12pm.

We are in our last days of the season. Now is a great time to pick some berries, to make memories in the Patch, and to grab some for fresh eating.

Please note, there will be no picking Saturday or Sunday.Β We could potentially be open for an evening pick next week, but that will depend on how the berries look after the weekend.

Come pick Friday and get your taste of summer!

Everyone keeps asking…
πŸ«› “When will the peas be ready?” πŸ«›
Well, the peas have quite a tale of woe to tell.
It all started on April Fools’ Day. We probably should have known better than to plant that day because apparently Mother Nature was feeling mischievous. πŸ˜„
Over the next two weeks, the Patch received inches and inches of rain, and the peas… well, let’s just say very few survived.
So we replanted on April 25th.
Now, under normal circumstances, these peas are ready about 58 days after germination. Give them a week or so to sprout, and that would put us right around June 29th.
But then May decided to be exceptionally cool. And now June is taking a turn too. But peas like cool weather so….πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
Whew. Farming sure knows how to keep us humble.
Here’s what we do know: The peas are coming. Eventually. πŸ˜„
And when they do, you’ll have several opportunities to come out to the Patch and pick your own.
You probably just won’t be able to pick both strawberries and peas on the same day this year.
That’s farming for you. πŸŒ±πŸ«›
